Accessibility
Rights that only work for some people aren't rights. We are committed to meeting the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA across this site, and to fixing anything that falls short.
What we've built in
- Semantic HTML landmarks (header, navigation, main, footer) on every page, so screen readers can move around confidently.
- A skip link to the main content as the first focusable element.
- Full keyboard navigation — every control works without a mouse, with visible focus.
- Text and interface colours chosen for WCAG contrast ratios.
- No animation, motion or auto-playing content anywhere.
- Pages that work at 200% zoom and reflow on small screens.
- Status labels that never rely on colour alone — the words carry the meaning.
Known limitations, honestly
- Some machine-readable pages (the raw JSON declarations and schema files) are plain data with no styled view — readable, but not a comfortable read in assistive technology.
- Long transparency tables can be heavy going in a screen reader; we're working on better summaries and captions.
- This site has not yet had a full external accessibility audit. This statement is our own assessment, and we say so rather than imply otherwise.
